The second impactful activity of the YES project – Young European Sculpture (2022-1-FR01-KA220-HED-000087792), funded by Erasmus+, takes place at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto with the participation of students and faculty from AAL – Art Academy of Latvia (Latvia), ABAC – Accademia di Belle Arti di Carrara (Italy), TALM – École supérieure d’art et de design (France), and FBAUP – Faculdade de Belas Artes da Universidade do Porto (Portugal).
The program of YES Masterclass #2 includes:
— Workshops: “Small Foundry to Artist Studio: aluminium by sand casting of evaporable models” by Rui Ferro, “Material narratives of obsolete objects” by Miguel Costa, “Body and Matter: reuse and extension” by Rute Rosas, “One thing gives birth to another – fragments and objects from the end to the new beginning” by Norberto Jorge, “Uterotopias” by Samuel Silva, and “Walking a line” by Jorge Marques.
— Masterclass: “Art as Experience, towards the idea of a critical landscape within the art academia” by Gabriela V. Pinheiro.
— And a film session featuring “Outer Space” and “Light is Calling” with Vítor Almeida.
In addition to the Portuguese team of professors, the activities are also supported by professors from France – Vincent Voillat and Cyril Zarcone –, from Italy – Ulrich Joannes Mueller and Mattia Dorici –, and from Latvia – Glebs Pantelejevs and Egons Persevics.
YES Masterclass #2 is supported by Interecycling, the CAAC (Centro de Arte Alberto Carneiro), and the Junta de Freguesia do Bonfim (Parish Council).
