Abstract
In this artistic and theoretical project I intend to investigate how intelligent lighting systems can change our perception of spaces. Agamben (2009) observes that every device brings with it a process of subjectivation. If the influence of light on us is visual, biological and emotional, what kind of changes can arise in our relationship with spaces with the use of sensors, autonomous controls and light sources capable of color variation? I intend to analyze cases of use of these systems, such as the one in the Stratumseind area, in Eindhoven, where a “living Lab” was created to study the influence of the color of light on the behavior of visitors and, also, the technique of Human Centric Lighting that interferes in the circadian rhythm of the body through light. I will maintain an artistic process to experiment with the possibilities of these Intelligent Systems in order to foster a field of reflection on their ethical and political dimensions.
