Tomás Quintais (1998) is a Portuguese sound artist whose practice revolves around the creation of real-time sound installations. His work is rooted in themes of place, walking, and memory. Among his most notable pieces are Actants, Passaggio, and Cantus Discantus—the latter awarded the Edigma Semibreve Scholar Prize in October 2021 by the Semibreve Festival in Braga, Portugal. He has showcased his work in a range of sound art contexts, including Just Listen: Paisagens Sonoras da Cidade 2022 and the 2021 Semibreve Festival. He is currently developing his doctoral research at the University of Aveiro, in collaboration with the Polytechnic Institutes of Porto and Leiria. His investigation focuses on the creation of sound installations for haunted places.
