Abstract
“Ineliminable” assumes the relationship between the object and its physical surroundings as an indispensable link, determinant for Sculpture. Something that carves the work and its experience at the indivisible intersection between figure and background – object and context. Their interinfluence, reframed as interdependence, is questioned with the aim to anticipate, take precaution and, above all, integrate into sculpture the transformative potential of the circumstances in which a given artistic object is presented. The theme is problematized through authorial work and referential artistic-scientific production. A tripartite structure follows, organized according to the author’s subjective experience between the roles of artist, curator and witness (spectator), investigating the impact of context – space, time and public – on artistic practice and experience. Methods of clear communication between the object and its surroundings are evaluated, in the search and production of so-called extroverted objects, which in this extroversion adapt to changes between contexts, through spatial, temporal and participatory approaches. In this way, the artistic object is thought of as a term in relationship (and not an isolated protagonist) expanding art beyond its physical limits – an Initiative centered on the task of assuming what cannot be excluded.
