The School of Fine Arts of the University of Porto and the I2ADS – Research Institute of Art Design and Society are hosting ICOCEP 3rd Edition of the INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS ON CONTEMPORARY EUROPEAN PAINTING. The Congress, a double peer review event, will feature the participation of experts, artists, teachers and researchers from different countries and multiple Art Institutions, highlighting the vitality of painting today.
This year’s edition will focus on the dialogical perspective of painting and its relationship with society, research, image and landscape in the current context we are living in.
For the first time, ICOCEP will also host the first International journeys ON CONTEMPORARY EUROPEAN PAINTING – jOCEP 1st Edition, open to postgraduate, masters and doctoral students, under the subject ‘New Places on Painting Research’, promoting a special place for networking researchers from different countries and institutions.
The ICOCEP 3rd Edition will be held at the School of Fine Arts of the University of Porto from May’s 24th to 27th 2022 in a hybrid model (in person and online) due to the Pandemic Covid-19 Situation.
The jOCEP conference will be held exclusively in an online model.

Abstracts must be organized as follows: title, keywords, abstract up to 500 words, one image.
All texts will be subject to double blind review. The acceptance of the abstract will hold a 15-minute presentation at ICOCEP and a digital free-access Abstract Book.
PAPER SUBMISSION
The texts will be revised by a double-blind review to ensure the high academic quality of the edited documents.
The ICOCEP 3rd Edition texts will be published as Book Chapters, and the jOCEP 1st Edition texts will be published as Proceedings Book.
The final article should follow the template format, and have between 2000 and 5000 words, and include 2 to 5 images. (All images must be licensed for use in the context of conferences, and the author/s of the texts are responsible for issuing a declaration of assignment of rights of use).
The full paper should be submitted until May 31st.
REGISTRATION
For each accepted submission, one author will have to register as below before March 30th.
Registrations will open after the notifications of the reviews (April 30th).
