Born in Oporto in 1950. Professor Emeritus of the University of Porto. Retired Professor at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto (Department of Design – Artistic Education). PhD in ‘Painting’, Master in ‘Multimedia Art’ and Degree in ‘Fine Arts – Painting’ from the University of Porto – Faculty of Fine Arts. Integrated Researcher in i2ADS (Research Institute in Art, Design and Society) is part of its Direction and Scientific Committee. Coordinates the hub ‘Interculturality and Society’ and was a founding member of the ‘IDENTIDADES_Colectivo de Acção e Investigação’ (ID_CAI). Multiple paths through several routes, apparently dispersed but related by a transversal attitude of critical intervention against discrimination, racism and colonialism. Strong anti-colonial involvement in intercultural, artistic and cultural actions with communities in Mozambique, Brazil, Cape Verde and Portugal.
