Daniela Coimbra

Daniela Coimbra is the President of the Scientific Board of ESMAE – Escola Superior de Música e das Artes do Espetáculo. She graduated with a degree in music education from the Porto Polytechnic Institute and gained her MA and PhD in music psychology from the University of Sheffield. Her PhD thesis examined young singers’ preparation for performance and their subsequent assessment. She was a post-doctoral researcher at the Research Center for Science and Technology in Art (CITAR) at the Portuguese Catholic University, Porto.Her work, which was in collaboration with the Centre for Performance Science and sponsored by a grant from the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology, focused on psychological and educational aspects of music practice and performance. Since 2010, she has been an adjunct lecturer at the Superior School of Music, Porto Polytechnic Institute, teaching music psychology to students on the classical and jazz programmes. Her research interests include performance anxiety and assessment, creativity, and personality, as well as the application of new technologies in educational contexts. Daniela Coimbra integrated teams of project financed by FCT and Bial. She published 16 papers in refereed journal, 7 book chapters, organizes 5 scientific events. Daniela Coimbra supervised 4 PhD thesis and co-supervised 4. She supervised 16 Master dissertations. Daniela Coimbra intervenes in the Humanities Ares, with a special emphasis on Arts. In her professional activities she interacted with 37 colaborador(es) as a co-author. In the Ciencia Vitae CV the most frequent terms in the contextualisation of scientific, technological and cultural-artistic production are Academic Psychology of Music and achievement.
