The Subject, the Map and the Trip

This report, O Sujeito, o Mapa e a Viagem (the Subject, the Map and the Trip), arises in the context of the training practice in the Portuguese school Escola Secundária Filipa de Vilhena, for the Master Mestrado em Ensino de Artes Visuais no 3.o Ciclo do Ensino Básico e no Ensino Secundário, during which the experience led to reflexion, study and deepening of matters connected to teaching visual arts, and the role we represent as teachers. Thus, this training report develops itself around questions related to the operationalization of the curriculum and the programmes of the subject of Visual Arts for students from 12 to 14 and Drawing A for student from 15 up to University. Here, thoughts related to school and its connexion to society, to visual culture and its integration in school contents are present, as well as the role of the pedagogic relationship in the communication between individuals present in the school context.
