ESMAE Project 2014

Project 2014, presents a range of works from the final year students from the Department of Image Arts (DAI) from the School of Music, Arts and Entertainment (ESMAE), Polytechnic Institute of Porto (IPP), developed under the Master in Audiovisual Communication (MCA), and the Degrees in Technology of Audiovisual Communication (TCAV) and Technology of Multimedia Communication (TCM).

The projects represent a combination between creative and technical components of the development of a final course work, in which evidence the skills acquired throughout their academic training.

Derived from an academic artistic practice, projects based on a theoretical conceptualization allow the application of a set of practices and techniques that result in a diverse set of proposals that have been developed in the academic year 2013/2014 in the Department of Image Arts in the following areas: Photography, Short Film Fiction, Documentary, Short Animation, Interactive installations, websites, games and mobile content.

Through exhibitions, screenings and installations, a public dimension is given to the academic work of the graduates from DAI, place to introduce the quality of their work  to the artistic community, potential employers and the general public .

To all the students who now complete their degrees we wish the greatest artistic and professional successes in their future activity. We take this opportunity to thank the “Centro Português de Fotografia”, to the “Festival de Curtas Metragens de Vila do Conde”, to “Casa das Artes”, among other institutions, who have maintained and enhanced disclosure of the final projects completed by our students.

Photography and Multimedia’s projects will be displayed inthe room Aurélio Paz dos Reis, at the Portuguese Photography Centre, from 12th July until 28th September.  This show also features the designs of Visual Arts, held under Call Project14.

A presentation of the movies by our Video graduates will be shown at  Vila do Conde’s Short Film Festival, on july 6th from 3pm to 5pm.
